Who are we?

“Mustadam” is a non-profit company and community-based environmental initiative that seeks to reduce food waste in Kuwait. It does so by building an integrated system that begins by collecting food scraps from homes, restaurants, farms, and food companies, then recycling them to produce organic fertilizer (compost), and ends by changing community behavior toward more conscious and sustainable consumption.

Stemming from our belief that environmental solutions begin at the heart of the community and extend to include private and governmental institutions, we work to empower families through periodic reports and analytical tools, in addition to providing free nutritional consultations that help them understand their eating behavior and improve their food management skills, through realistic solutions that align with their lifestyles.

We also believe that awareness is the cornerstone of any sustainable change. We implement awareness campaigns and interactive workshops that aim to spread the culture of responsible consumption and promote the concepts of environmental sustainability.

Because the path to sustainability begins with the food plate and ends with a long-term impact on the environment and society, we chose the name “Sustainable” to be the title of our ambition and our mission to create continuous change.

“Sustainable” is not just a recycling initiative, but a community movement based on a system of services and programs, seeking to achieve a real and lasting environmental and social impact.
